Standing Still and Seeing the Salvation of God Exodus 14:13 — “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord…” There are moments in life when everything in us wants to run, react, defend, or fix the problem with our own hands. When the pressure is high and the way forward looks blocked, standing still feels like failure. But in God’s Kingdom, standing still is not a sign of defeat—it’s a posture of faith. Sometimes God works best when we stop moving. When Forward Seems Impossible Imagine the Israelites at the Red Sea. Water in front of them. Pharaoh behind them. Fear swelling within them. They had no logical escape route—no backup plan, no strategy. What God told them next is the same thing He tells us when we reach the end of our strength: “Stand still and see what I’m about to do.” God wasn’t asking them to be passive.
