THE STORM AND THE CITY

The Storm and the City

In a busy city filled with skyscrapers and endless noise, people lived their lives surrounded by concrete, believing in the strength of what human hands had built. Towers touched the clouds, lights never went out, and the city seemed unstoppable.

One summer, a storm unlike any other rolled in. The wind howled between the buildings, rain fell in sheets, and power lines snapped. In minutes, the city that never slept went dark. Subways stopped. Phones died. Streets flooded. Fear crept into every heart.

In a small apartment on the edge of town, an elderly woman lit a single candle. She had very little—just a Bible on her table and a whispered prayer on her lips. “Lord, we are helpless. Show us Your power.”

That night, while the city trembled, the storm shifted. The river swelled but did not break its banks. The wind bent trees but did not destroy them. And in the quiet of dawn, the sky broke open with sunlight so bright it painted every building in gold.

When the power returned days later, neighbors gathered in the streets sharing food, water, and stories. The elderly woman smiled and said softly, “God’s hand is greater than our towers, stronger than the storm, and tender enough to care for each one of us.”

The people realized then: the city wasn’t invincible. But the God who commands the wind and calms the waters—He was, and always will be.

✨ Message: Even in our modern world of technology, wealth, and strength, God shows He is far more powerful and magnificent than anything we build. He is the One who holds both storms and hearts in His hand.
